The Catholic Services Appeal is an annual campaign of the Archdiocese of Detroit promoted through the efforts of all parishes. Each parish is provided with an individual goal to assist the Archdiocese in this fundraising effort, our goal this year is $118,000.00. Any funds collected over the parish goal are returned to the parish for our own needs.

This year’s theme is based on Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will also be your heart.” As Disciples of Christ, we must also be good stewards of the many gifts he has provided each of us to share with our brothers and sisters in need. Through CSA, our donation helps to reach those in need through the various programs and ministries.

What Does the Catholic Service Appeal Fund?
The Catholic Service Appeal benefits parishes and people in the Archdiocese of Detroit by helping to fund approximately 170 ministries, programs, and services. The annual budget is over $17,000,000 and each parish pays its fair share (based on annual income).

The ministries, programs, and services funded by CSA include Catholic Schools, Clergy and Consecrated Life, Communications and Marketing, Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship, Mission Advancement and Stewardship, Parish Care and Services, Priestly Vocations, Technology, Sacred Major Seminary and Cathedral Support, National Collections and Metropolitan Tribunal.

Why Your Donation is Important to Our Parish

Your donation over and above your regular offertory gift helps our parish pay its mandatory target of $118,000, which is not part of our regular operating budget.
If we exceed our target amount, that amount comes back to our parish without any additional

percentage going to the archdiocese. This is why giving to the Catholic Services Appeal is the best way to give any additional gifts to our parish. All other donations are taxed 7% by the

archdiocese for their operational budget.

Many of our parishioners benefit from the CSA funded ministries, programs and services that we, as a parish, cannot afford to offer on our own

What Should Your Gift Be?
Everyone’s ability to give varies from household to household. Last year our gifts ranged from $20.00 to over $17,000.00, our average gift was $547.00. For those who are able, please consider an annual gift of $400.00 or a slight increase over last year’s gift. This can be broken down in quarterly or monthly payments. It is noted that some parishioners can give more, while others cannot give as much, but everyone should be able to give something. A gift of any amount shows your support for our parish and our larger family of the Archdiocese of Detroit. We were able to go over our goal last year, thanks to the generosity of some of our parishioners. Unfortunately, we also had the lowest number of donors in many years. If you have never given to CSA before, please consider a gift this year and help us reach our goal in a timely manner.
