About the event
We go through many stages in our lives as women. Some are joy-filled and uplifting, while others bring trials that challenge who we know ourselves to be. As sisters in Christ, we look to our faith and community to strengthen us. Join us as we celebrate the gift of being women called to be witnesses of God’s love to the world.

Speaker Judy Maten will be leading our evening of reflection! Judy has been in ministry for over thirty years, beginning as a catechist at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, where she also served as the Director of Religious Formation. She joined the Mobile Evangelization Team with the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2005, going on to serve as the Director of Evangelization and Catechist. In 2013, Judy co-founded Via Maria Consulting, LLC working with individuals and parishes to form disciples prepared for mission. Back at Shrine, Judy serves as a catechist in the Religious Formation parent program and for OCIA.
Judy earned her Master’s in Pastoral Studies from Sacred Heart Major Seminary. She completed the Ignatian Spirituality and Listening Ministry internship through Manresa Jesuit Retreat Center and is a commissioned spiritual director. She is also trained to lead the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and is a spiritual director.
Judy and her husband John are members of the National Shrine of the Little Flower. They have four children and eight grandchildren, with one on the way.
